PART TIME VOLUNTEER DRIVER VACANCY


Based at: Layer Water Treatment Works, Church Road, Layer de la Haye, Essex CO2 0EP

Hours:    Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 07:30 – 10:00 and 15:30 – 18:00 with an opportunity to increase the hours worked further as the project develops. This includes time to collect and return the bus.  Term Time only.

Salary: Voluntary - expenses payable

Abberton Rural Training is a new Rural Skills training provider, under the governance of the Rural Community Council of Essex.  We provide Further Education for post 16 students in Land Based Studies, and Countryside and Environment and post 19 skills programmes in a variety of rural skills. A diverse range of organisations have come together to work in partnership to create and deliver Abberton Rural Training. These include Essex County Council, Colchester Borough Council, Layer Parish Council, Rural Community Council of Essex, Writtle College, Maldon District Council and Essex Wildlife Trust. 

Following the commencement of our courses, we now wish to recruit a part time Minibus Driver who will provide transportation covering pick up points in Colchester, Halstead, Braintree, Kelvedon, Coggeshall and Maldon.  The duties include:

maintaining mileage records;

carrying out safety checks to the vehicle daily;

arranging suitable pick up points if required to be amended;

dealing with student/parent/family enquiries;

refuelling bus as required;

dealing with other requirements as they arise.


The successful candidate will ideally have had experience working within an educational environment, or other transport provision.  They will be required to hold a full, clean driving licence, with no restriction on driving of a minibus.  You will need to be able to deal calmly with any situations that arise, and if possible hold a First Aid certificate or be willing to attend, and pass, First Aid training.  Good people skills and communication skills are also required.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS (formerly CRB) check, and references will be sought.

PART TIME CLEANER VACANCY

Hours:    Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 09:30 daily.  

             Term Time only.

Following the expansion of our courses, we now wish to recruit a part time Cleaner who will provide Cleaning to the classrooms, workshop, kitchen, office and toilet areas as required.  The duties include:

maintaining the cleanliness of the required areas including vacuuming, washing up, general tidying, removal of rubbish and any other items as required;

advising of any hazards/repairs to the office which are spotted during their work;

advising of any stock requirements for their needs;

dealing with other requirements as they arise.

The successful candidate will ideally have had experience working within an educational environment, or other cleaning role.  They will be required to adhere to Health and Safety instructions, and attend an induction process to ensure their safety on the site.   You will need to be able to deal calmly with any situations that arise, and if possible hold a First Aid certificate or be willing to attend, and pass, First Aid training.  Good people skills and communication skills are also required.
